Good morning!  It is snowing out, yeah!  Breckenridge received about 9″ of snow last night, and there is snow in the forecast for the next few days!

If you are looking for things to do this weekend, Saturday, December 1, 2007, Breckenridge celebrates with its annual Lighting of Breckenridge, which brings together guests and locals every year to rejoice in true holiday spirit. They will have storytelling and crafts between 2-4pm and Santa arrives at the Subway at 5pm.  Then Santa will lead a processional down main street to the Blue River Plaza to light the tree.

There is also a  free Holiday concert with  Kelly Donovan, winner of the 2007 International Songwriter of the Year with Solid Gospel for her Christmas song, “An Angels Prayer.”

Also, Team Summit (which is a local organization that helps kids to learn how to ski race, snowboard and have fun) is having their 27Th Annual Ski Ball at the Keystone Conference center this Saturday night at 6pm.  Tickets at the door are $120 .  There will be a silent auction and verbal auction benefiting the non-profit team.  There will be dinner and dancing at 7:30 and music by The Tommy Shreve Band.  It is a lot of fun!

The Real Estate Market up here is a very strong seller’s market and it is not affected by the economy that the newscasters portray is dismal all over the nation.  In fact, we have been experiencing 10-20% appreciation every year for the past 4 years.  There isn’t a lot of inventory, however, there is the demand.  Our market consists of 65-70% second homeowners who are looking for that special place to either retire and bring their families or by the person who wants that mountain property to enjoy in the summer or the winter.
